The Valley Troupers Northleigh
Formed in 1992, The Valley Troupers have staged a wide variety of productions at Northleigh's Village Hall. A one-night entertainment at the Harvest supper that year has grown into a regular annual production. We are always looking for members, so if you are interested in acting or helping behind the scenes, do get in touch. Rehearsals at Northleigh's village hall usually start at 7.45pm each Thursday evening from mid September until performance dates in late March or early April. Ask any member of the Troupers for details of the current production.
Two Pairs of Shorts + (2019)
Two Pairs of Shorts + offered an evening of short plays and humorous monologues written between 1920 and 1950. Colin Campbell Clements served in the US army in WW1 before returning to the States to become a prolific writer of plays and poetry, including 'Yesterday'. Marriott Edgar's works includes 16 monologues performed by Stanley Holloway from 1930 onwards. Pen of my Aunt and The Three Mrs Madderleys were written in the late 1940s by Gordon Daviot (Elizabeth Mackintosh), better known as Jospehine Tey. Finally, 'Not The Archers' was an affectionate send-up of the much-loved radio show.
