The Valley Troupers Northleigh
Formed in 1992, The Valley Troupers have staged a wide variety of productions at Northleigh's Village Hall. A one-night entertainment at the Harvest supper that year has grown into a regular annual production. We are always looking for members, so if you are interested in acting or helping behind the scenes, do get in touch. Rehearsals at Northleigh's village hall usually start at 7.45pm each Thursday evening from mid September until performance dates in late March or early April. Ask any member of the Troupers for details of the current production.
Black Adder Goes Forth 2018
It is 1917 on the Western Front in the World War One trenches. Captain Edmund Blackadder is a professional soldier in the British Army who, until the outbreak of the Great War, had confined his military adventures to fighting natives "two feet tall and armed with dried grass". Finding himself trapped in the trenches with another "big push" planned, his concern is to avoid being sent over the top to certain death. His attempts to escape the trenches all fail due to bad fortune, misunderstandings and the general incompetence of his comrades, idealistic upper class Lieut. George and Pte. S. Baldrick, their unedifying, unhygenic but obdurately resourceful batman. Gen. Melchett, Brig. Proudfoot-Smith, Capt. Darling and Nurse Mary all help to complicate his life, which doesn't end at all well.
